Z Energy’s new home at ‘The Loft’, offered an open and dynamic space of 1,000m2 in Mt Eden within which to create a collaborative environment for 30 of Z Energy’s staff coming together from two Auckland locations.
With the success of the Z Energy headquarters in Wellington completed in 2011, Z Energy turned to the experienced team that successfully delivered their modern headquarters – The Building Intelligence Group and Jasmax Architects.
TIBG provided the interface to ensure Z Energy’s requirements and the Landlord’s base build fitout items were achieved efficiently together through an integrated fitout programme. Project Director Graeme Cocks comments “We have had a long association with Z Energy so we were able to interpret their brief and translate this vision into the final design documentation and delivery. The project ran very smoothly and was completed on programme and within budget.”
Z Energy’s new office offers strong design elements such as a collaborative informal break out spaces, the strong use of colour in perspex in-filled timber screens, ‘Cloud’ lights and a welcoming reception area. The Z Energy story is told through the prominent use of word play graphics on the longest wall. People are visible and accessible and Z Energy’s culture and values are top of mind. Z Energy’s Brett Palmer, Senior Project Manager, Business Technology and Transformation, comments “Everyone had their eye on the big picture right from the beginning and TBIG proactively ensured all detail was aligned with this vision, contributing to the project exceeding original expectations.”
