Boutique apartment development The Vulcan draws inspiration from the foundry that it was, until recently, operating on its site opposite Victoria Park.
Leuschke Group’s design for the new Vulcan development offers two towers, one park-side and one city-side. It is named after the Roman God of Fire and Neil Salter, Director of Plutus Holdings says the design’s upmarket edgy metallic aesthetic carries on a long history of matters metallic at the address. The Vulcan is an unmistakable nod to the inner-city renewal occurring in cities such as New York and Milan.
The Vulcan is a joint venture between Plutus Holdings Limited and Advantage Capital Limited. The Vulcan has a distinctly New York feel within an urban setting at 1 Halsey Street, across from Victoria Park. It offers 38 quality freehold apartments and a commercial development at its base.
The Building Intelligence Group was appointed as project managers, following on from the experience we were able to bring to the Atelier Apartments project, also by Plutus Holdings. Neil Salter comments “Our Atelier Apartment development certainly benefited from the skills and knowledge of the TBIG team in many ways and we have subsequently engaged them on this Vulcan project for this reason. TBIG will be very instrumental in design reviews and value management.”
“The Building Intelligence Group’s role was to realise value for our client through design and value management workshops combined with early contractor engagement.” says Paul Crum. “We managed the delivery of the Atelier Apartments in Kingsland, and it is satisfying to transfer our skills and knowledge of this project onto The Vulcan project. Both apartment developments are exciting stories about urban regeneration at its best.
