Post earthquakes, Buddle Findlay sought a new professional setting for their law practice.
Like many professional entities in Christchurch, Lawyers Buddle Findlay were quick to re-establish their service to clients after their premises were significantly damaged in the Christchurch earthquakes.
Working from temporary offices at St Asaph Street they saw an opportunity to relocate to a new build development at 83 Victoria Street, one of Christchurch’s first central business areas to be redeveloped.
The new five level building at 83 Victoria Street offered Buddle Findlay a blank canvas to create quality open plan accommodation on levels three and four of the building with a fitout that was integrated with the base build.
The Building Intelligence Group was engaged as project managers and provided technical advisory input into the Development Agreement between the tenant and landlord to ensure that Buddle Findlay’s requirements were captured and agreed.
TBIG’s strategy of providing a multi-disciplined team using experts from both our Wellington and Christchurch offices proved effective with the Wellington team providing front end DA expertise and our Christchurch team leading the delivery.
TBIG managed all tenant’s obligations for design approvals, budget approvals, change management approvals, contractor and consultant payments, project reporting, project governance, practical completion and handovers.
The new building is 100% of NBS, and the fitout was delivered on time to an adjusted programme and under budget.
