Our Auckland team created an enduring and high quality home in the West Plaza Building, Albert Street.
Celebrating our milestone of 25 years in business told us the time was right to base our growing Auckland team in an environment that was looking to the future. It was time to ‘walk the talk’ and to show that great design and value for money are ready partners. TBIG loves great design and when the opportunity to locate into the West Plaza building in Albert Street arose we leapt at the chance to be in one of the city’s iconic buildings.
TBIG’s Auckland Business Manager Brent Thomson explains how the new premises needed to deliver on a work style philosophy that is fundamental to TBIG’s values. “We wanted a quality, open space where our client and partners can share and collaborate. This is where the best project management happens.”
Great attention was given to the design aesthetics with high specification design elements and quality finishes throughout. The central industrial styled cafe makes a statement, yet is relaxed and the key elements that anchor it were chosen with a keen regard to quality and price. The strong use of steel and wood finishes, punctuated by well chosen key pieces of furniture which all combine fluidly to create a dynamic workplace.
The contractor was involved from an early stage to minimise the risk of contract variations and help expedite the programme. Our furniture, fittings and electrical suppliers were tightly scrutinised prior to engagement. The team was able to make effective value management decisions throughout the design and FF&E procurement processes to ensure we were achieving the high quality results we required within our predetermined budget.
As project managers, we’re a tough lot to impress. From the design aesthetic to the quality achieved, our new premises truly reflect how TBIG works.
