As New Zealand’s leading wine company, Constellation Brands had a vision to create a national headquarters which showcased the company’s past, present and future in a new building at NorthWest Two in Westgate Town centre.
Julie Bassett, Constellation Brands’ Senior Vice President – Human Resources comments on the company’s vision “We sought a high-quality environment that would deliver the right balance of elements from our past, present and future and interpreting that vision called for a shared understanding from the wider project team.” Engaged as project managers to deliver the bespoke high specification fitout, The Building Intelligence Group (TBIG) relished the opportunity to work with a client who set the bar high.
Our scope of service included design management, programming, procurement of contractors, cost management and construction management. It was essential to ensure that Constellation Brands’ requirements and the Landlords’ base build fitout items were achieved efficiently together in an integrated fitout programme.
The fitout contained many bespoke items such as barrel-shaped lighting fixtures, unique caged cellaring and a dedicated tasting room that nods to the company’s heritage and history. Many of New Zealand’s natural themes have been incorporated including Central Otago schist, a living moss wall, abundant natural timber screening, and a marble-finished reception. A central staircase is a visual feature and links levels one and two, which flow to flexible working spaces, breakout spaces and meeting rooms.
Julie Bassett comments “TBIG played an integral role in the success of the project. Without their drive and determination to deliver the outcomes we were looking for, I don’t believe we would have been able to move in when we did. Even after we moved in, they worked tirelessly and across multiple parties to ensure our finishing touches were at the standard expected. Our team is very happy with the end result.”
